Gourmet Food Works is the catering side of The Picnic Basket Restaurant, serving Chicago and the northern suburbs since 1980.  Our name, Gourmet Food Works accents who we are and what we do.  The delicious food is made from the finest ingredients and then served with an attractive, impeccable presentation by our friendly, courteous, and prompt staff.

We have several unique but simple menu ideas that are practical yet economical, providing irresistible tastes that satisfy every guest.  Unlike others, we don't fill our menus with food items one can't even pronounce just to impress you.  We have adopted a principle of truly American dining that can be understood by every client.  Every menu is a proven winner.  If you have a special request, theme, or ambience in mind, we will create it for you and develop a creative buffet design and menu ideas to compliment your theme.
